WHAT is DISTRICT 3?

District 3 is the designated voting district in Cocoa, FL. Eight precincts are in District 3. The majority of voters are in precincts 21, 164, and 217. Precincts 21, 164, and 217 have 3,097 eligible voters. 80% eligible voters cast a vote in the 2008 general election. How many will vote in the JUNE 8 Special Election for the available council seat?

Where is Cocoa, Florida District 3?

Cocoa, Florida is in the very center of the Space Coast and only 50 miles East of Orlando. Cocoa is a city of 16,000 residents, beautifully located on the Indian River lagoon. Only a few miles West of Cocoa is the St. John's River surrounded by wetlands.
District 3 is located in the Northwest city limits of Cocoa. It is the educational center of Cocoa: home of Cocoa High School (CHS), Brevard Community College (BCC), and a branch of the University of Central Florida (UCF).
District 3 has much to offer residents and visitors. Astronaut Memorial Planetarium and Observatroy is located on the BCC campus and nearby is the Brevard Museum of History and Natural Science. A busy shopping area is only a mile North of the BCC campus with WalMart, Aldi's Grocery and Publix Grocery Stores. We have acres of undeveloped land in District 3 with our large residential neighborhoods and shopping districts.
